The newest album from The Foo Fighters is just ok. The new single, "The Pretender", is available on youtube.
The new album is called "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace". I'm happy to report the Foo come back swinging with fun and fast-licking rips that made them huge years ago. I was disappointed, however, in some of the tracks that are definitely snoozers, but overall it is still good music from a group of good musicians. I admit there is little material these guys have produced that I wouldn't recommend. This album seems to follow a trend of mediocre material that sounds good at first, but loses energy fast. The opening track "The Pretender" is perfect and just the type of jam you would expect from this band. Later tracks emphasize their diverse interest and abilities. Some listeners might not dig the accoustic, almost bluegrass sound of "The Ballad Of the Beaconsfield Miners".. The Pretender video is one of the best videos i've seen in a good long while.
The rest of the album, however falls short of the energy I expect from the Foo Fighters of the forgotten past.
